Ages 13 – 19
From philosophy and speech to biology lab and chess, you’ll find a wide selection of classes for your older students. Classes meet once per week on Fridays. If you qualify for the drop-off program, you must work six or more volunteer hours per semester. We encourage parents to invest in the program to exhibit service to the community and to highlight the importance of education.

Jr. Toastmasters

The Junior Toastmasters program is an informal course in the arts of communication and leadership. Clearly expressing your thoughts to others so they are heard and understood is important if you want to participate in group discussions and decision-making activities. I Peter 3:15 says, “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,” Students will learn lifelong skills, including overcoming nervousness when speaking publicly, organizing and presenting ideas convincingly, and listening carefully to others. Biology Lab

Throughout our year together, we will explore foundational biological principles through engaging, hands-on activities. Topics will include essential lab safety, proper microscope usage, the scientific method, writing lab reports, and dissections. This course satisfies the required 30-hour high school lab credit, with 24 hours in class and 6 hours of assigned work. SAT Math Strategies and Problem-Solving

This weekly class sharpens students' abilities to tackle the Reading and Writing sections of the Digital SAT with confidence. Bushcraft Wilderness Training

If you’ve ever wanted to get away from it all, this is the class to help you learn how to really do it! Designed for ages 13-19, this class teaches essential wilderness skills, allowing students to work together to build sturdy shelters using hand tools and lashings. They will also learn outdoor cooking techniques, including using a Dutch oven and cooking over an open fire. For those who have already taken Survival Skills, this class is the perfect next step to further enhance your abilities. Robotics Club

Today's world leverages robots in almost every aspect of our lives, from cars to coffee makers. Manufacturing and engineering firms increasingly use robots to design and produce nearly everything, filling roles once held by highly trained humans. While this allows for mass production, it also challenges young people to understand the technology behind robots. This course, designed for ages 13-19, provides foundational knowledge in robotics using the VEX IQ system. The material may vary in difficulty, but successful completion will give students a strong foundation in robotics. By the end, each student will be able to imagine, design, engineer, and build a robot to solve a problem in their household. Learn more

Work Study
Various Times | $29
Work Study gives kids constructive time between classes, during which they will assist with various jobs on campus. Once students have worked for two weeks, they will have earned a week in the canteen! All work time will be eligible for volunteer hours. Volunteer hours can be used for reporting to LTL’s Teen Volunteer Award Program, the Mayor’s Award, and as work for a non-profit (great for scholarship applications).

Private Tutoring
Time Varies | $197
We are thrilled to offer tutoring at almost any level, with slots available throughout the day. Sign up quickly, as this is a popular option on campus. Each time slot in registration is for a 30-minute session (you can sign up for two slots to have an hour-long session). Other tutoring subjects are available upon request and subject to availability. Tutoring requires parents to check in weekly to customize teaching time with the student effectively.

Private Music Lessons
Time Varies | $297
Receive private instruction at your level and needs. Private lessons allow your student to receive one-on-one instruction, which is vital to improving their skill level quickly. The teacher can closely observe hand positions, fingerings, specific patterns, and learning styles. The first lesson will assess what books are needed. Each lesson is 30 minutes long.
